A Sovereign Wealth Fund in Abu Dhabi, operating within a highly regulated and data-driven environment, is seeking a Senior IT Application Analyst to join its Technology team. The organisation plays a critical role in national-level operations and is undergoing an ambitious digital transformation agenda.

The Senior IT Application Analyst will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs, analyze business processes, and collaborate with IT teams to design, implement and optimize IT application solutions. The role requires strong communication skills, technical knowledge and a deep understanding of both business and IT environments.

Responsabilities

  • Prepare and maintain documentation for IT applications, including functional specifications, user manuals, and process flows
  • Engage with business users to gather and document business requirements for IT applications.
  • Conduct training sessions for business users to ensure effective use of IT applications.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, user guides and standard operating procedures
  • Collaborates with department heads, product owners, and end-users to understand business needs and objectives.
  • Collaborates with software vendors, IT service providers, and consultants for system implementations, integrations, or upgrades.

Experience & Qualifications

  • At least 5-7 years of experience as a Business Analyst or IT Applications Analyst in a corporate environment.
  • Proven experience with enterprise applications, software implementation, and process improvement.
  • Strong understanding of IT applications, databases, and software systems.
  • Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, CRM systems, or similar tools.
  • Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMP) is a plus.

  • Strategic Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the creation of test plans and perform testing to ensure application functionality.
    • Monitor the performance and usage of IT applications, gathering feedback from users to identify opportunities for optimization and enhancement.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and tools to recommend improvements to business processes and systems.
  • Core Responsibilities:

    • Engage with business users to gather and document business requirements for IT applications.
    • Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications.
    • Analyze and understand business processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement.
    • Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement application solutions that meet business needs.
    • Ensure that solutions are aligned with organizational goals and IT architecture.
    • Participate in the development, testing, and deployment of new applications and system enhancements.
  • People & Leadership Responsibilities:

    • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams, ensuring effective communication and understanding of requirements.
    • Provide guidance and support to business users on application functionalities and best practices.
    • Assist in managing expectations and resolving any issues during the implementation process.
    • Monitor the performance and usage of IT applications, gathering feedback from users to identify opportunities for optimization and enhancement.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and tools to recommend improvements to business processes and systems.
  • Internal Interface: 

    • Collaborates with department heads, product owners, and end-users to understand business needs and objectives.
    • Aligns project timelines, scope, and deliverables to ensure smooth execution.
    • Provides guidance on system enhancements, troubleshooting, and process improvements.
  • External Interfaces:

    • Collaborates with software vendors, IT service providers, and consultants for system implementations, integrations, or upgrades.
    • Ensures IT solutions comply with industry regulations, data protection laws, and cybersecurity requirements.
  •  Management Accountability:

    • Identifying inefficiencies and recommending effective technology-driven solutions.
    • Acting as a bridge between business and IT, ensuring both sides understand expectations and deliverables.
    • Aligning IT solutions with regulatory requirements and mitigating risks associated with system implementations.
    • Supporting teams in adopting new technologies and ensuring a smooth transition.

Requirements:

  • Education & Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMP) is a plus.
